I thinl every person I talked to about the party thought I was crazy for doing a slumber party (they say it's going to be wild, no rest and and little sleep) I have to admit, they got me worried...but if this is what my girl wants for her birthday, I will not deprive her of the fun of being a kid and giggle with her girl friends.
Who would have thought... Kaylee's party was a blast! I am glad I did it. They all went to bed at 10:30 and I even had eight hours of uninterrupted sleep... the longest I had for the last few days. Here are the highlights:

The boys got to join too, although Kaylee wanted to kick them out originally, She said: "exclusively for girls". eating on the trampoline was not part of the plan but I decided to just go with the flow. Turned outto be agreat idea. They loved it! Me and josh got to sit down and enjoy a quiet dinner. They even cleaned up after themselves ( Well, Kaylee, Allison and Mary Beth did). Not bad right?
She loves butterflies so I thougnt I'd make a butterfly cake this time. It wasn't as difficult as I thought
Just being silly while waiting for daddy to light the B-day candles.
I tried to upload a video of the them siging happy birthday but my uploader was giving me problems so just use your imagination. Nothing exciting.

I hid all the presents. The girls had to find 7 clues and 7 presents
New tennis racket! And it"s PINK!!! Thanks, dad!
I think this one ws a hit...and her panda pillow pet from mom.

After the scavenger hunt and opening of presents, they decorated and signed each other's pillow cases. This is a fun idea. I bought fabric crayons instead of spray paint so I didn't have to deal with messes.
That was a lot of fun! They we're giggling and snorting! Allison even wrote "snort" on her pillow case:)

The Wonderful girl that she is...
- Her daily routine (well, I'd say 90% of the time)...wakes up gets ready for the day, makes her bed(without being told), gets her own breakfast and sometimes when the boys are awake she gives them breakfast as well (she likes to make french toast and of course cereal on her lazy days). When there's no school, she even turns on the TV and they watch 1 of their 30 minute recorded shows while and Josh sleep in ( bad parents). Then they all go wake us up:) Remember, 90 % of the time. Sometimes she demonstrates her being a kid and does not do any of the above. But oh well, she is still a child after all. She makes me proud.
- Her Chores are mopping, sweeping, emptying the dishwasher ( she loves to hand wash the dishes). helping the boys put away their toys and keeping her room clean and tidy.have I to say, she is doing such a great job at such a young age.
- Her most recent skill? Hula hoop! She is one parson who really excels at anything that she puts her mind into. She got that From Josh. It took her 2 days to figure it out. Same number or days for the pogo stick, and 3 days to ride the bike without the training wheels. I truly admire her determination.
- She can make steamed rice without supervision. She even wipes the pot before she puts them in the rice cooker. Beat that Tito Dave!
- She said she wants to be good at drawing, tennis and Piano. And she wants to learn how to knit. I know that she will make this happen. I'd better get those knitting needles out. That would be a good thing to keep her busy this summer.
- She wants to be a nurse and an artist. I love her so much. Our family is not complete without her. She is all I could ask for a girl and first born child.
