We decided to pull her out of there and she'll go to Oregon Trail across the street. we submitted all her paper work today and to our relief they only have 20 students enrolled this year so it's not that bad. We also decided to teach her myself and not just rely on the school.
Now that I think about it, I'm glad that we discovered this right away or it would be difficult for Kaylee to leave and adjust to a new school. We love our girl, we just want the best for her. She's a smart little thing and really easy to teach.
This is a picture of her reading log. We signed her up for the Library's summer reading program and she finished it all by herself. She read for a total of twelve hours. For her prize, she got a book and some coupons. Orfourse, we went and claimed her free ice cream right away:)

Ethan fell asleep in the car today ( rarely happens):)

oh man Ellie. I can't beleive they watch disney movies! That is so sad. I'm glad you found out early. Tell the kids we love and miss them.
Good thing you found out early. She will do good at public school too. When Jason went to school in the afternoon we just had school in the morning too. And now even though homework has not started at school yet it has started at home. Jason told me homework starts next week. I told him sorry you can never stop learning. Good luck.
Wow, you're right! That would be sooooo frustrating! Good for you for making the switch now. I'm sure Kaylee will thrive no matter where she goes. I miss you too and yes, getting together is a must!
Good thing you found out about the movie watching. That's terrible! I would be so mad and pull my kid out, too. I think you are smart to also teach her yourself. Every child is unique and they will thrive with the individualized attention. Kaylee is such a smart girl!
Hey Ellie are you homeschooling Kaylee? By the way I found a whole better whole wheat bread recipe. I will give it to you on sunday. The other one took too long.
Well I'm plsnning on it. Partisl homeschool I guess ( if there is such a thing). Mt friend told me he'd help me with the things I need to teach Kaylee. Do you have anything to help me? I need all the help I can get. The last few days we have been practicing writing, Doing math, Memorizing the days of the week. I need like a guide. tomorrow we'll talk to her teacher and see if she can join the frist graders during reading time. Any suggestions?
I'm excited to get the Whole wheat bread recipe. Thanks Stephanie. See you on Sunday. Sorry I can't watch the boys on Saturday. Don't hesitate to call me though anytime. I'd be more than happy to watch them for you.
Hey Ellie, I have been purchasing books at the dollar tree. I also have looked for stuff online. You can always go to the library. That is where I got a lot of Jason's books. Also, something I have been doing when he brings work home from school, if I see he has misspelled a word we use that for spelling test here at home. Today, he told me this is not the homework the teacher has given us. I told him I know But, we need more homework then just artwork. These are just some ideas. We don't home school, so I am not an expert. Jason really needs the social growth that school provides, besides we already talked about home school he did not like the idea. Good luck.
I don't want to home school her really, I just want to supplement what she's learning in school. thanks for the ideas.
