Caleb surprised me last week. I didn't know he knew most of his letters:) I thought he wasn't paying attention when I taught him. Who would of thought. He loves to take his diaper off at night and pee in his bed. Any idea on how we can stop him? He even gets the box tape off!! Ethan is getting more active everyday. He pulls himself up and walks around the furniture. He claps his hands when he gets excited. Oh, and his first tooth just came in. I can't wait to see him smile with his pearly whites:)

Kaylee the little helperWashing the dishes and scrubbing the stovetop and the counter are her favorite things to do.

She also likes to feed Ethan but I always catch her taking a few bites of Ethan's food. Sneaky!

We canned our own rice and mung beans for family night.

Ellie I wish I knew how to help. Matthew has started taking his diaper off now too. I have been doing laundry all morning he sleeps in a full size bed. So, tons of laundry. Don't you just love toddlers. Good luck!
We tried every kind of tape with Abby, and she figured out how to get past all of them except black electrical tape. It will not tear and if you wrap it all the way around and stick it to itself in back, they can't get it off.
Oh my gosh...I have no idea! Maybe duct tape? Or electric tape like Heather suggested. I love the pictures of Kaylee helping around the house!! Can I borrow her? ;)Miss you guys!
Hooray for Caleb, Matthew and Abby! Seriously, can you blame them? Who wants to sleep in a wet diaper? Can you try taking him to the bathroom when he wakes during the night? That's what we do with Michael.
maybe he is ready to start potty training? My friend out here just potty trained her 2 year old and they are so happy. I can't wait to see you guys in a few weeks!
Are you really cheering them on Lisa? I can't wait for Michael to poop in your house and you will know how frustrating it is. Or who knows maybe they don't like to sleep in a wet diaper, I guess they would rather sleep in a wet bed with no diaper on what do you think? The problem we have is that we don't know when he is awake, he is so quiet that we think he is sleeping. It is not like a 9 month old who cries when he wakes up. We are trying to potty train him, he does an okay job during the day but he just isn't quite there at night because he is so tired. I guess we should have started him as an infant. Or maybe the electrical tape sounds good, and maybe some hand cuffs to boot.
I have comment on this too. Caleb is really quiet! Sometimes I don't hear him until he tries to climb out for the crib. Usually because he falls out.(Sorry Ellie and Josh.) I like the electrical tape too. I will have to try it. Also, I could not even imagine waking up in the middle of the night to take my two year old to the bathroom. Matthew would think it was party-time. NO-NO! I like my sleep. I am sure you guys do too.
Caleb is typical boy toddler.
We started potty training Caleb when he was 18 months old. He's mostly wearing an underwear during the day. We don't really know that he's awake until after he takes off his diaper, then he calls. I thinks that Caleb Matthew and Aby get the idea that they need to take their diaper off to go potty but they're just too tired and too in a hurry that they don't get to the potty soon enough. We even tried putting the potty in his room. Does that makes us lousy parents?
Thanks Steph. Sleep is important to me too. I need all the energy To take care of THREE kids.
I guess I just don't think it's a big deal to clean up poop and pee. After having to do that with developmentally disabled adults, doing it with a baby is nothing. We just shrug it off over here. And I was only trying to help with the idea of taking him to the potty. I thought you might want him to stay dry at night, but I can see now that is not the case. They make those pull up training pants for nighttime...maybe those would be harder to get off?
Maybe I was unclear with what I mean by poop. In a diaper is one thing, but, when he wakes up and smears poop all around the room before we know he is awake is another. The latest was; in the bed, on the carpet, in the closet, on the changing table, etc... maybe you wouldn't just shrug that off but who knows maybe you would, if that is the case feel free to come on over and help us out with the cleaning. We don't believe that there is anything wrong with having a wet diaper at night. The diapers pull the wetness away from the skin and also what we have noticed is that he does not poop or pee much at night it is early in the morning. Sometimes we wake up in time to take him to the toilet and sometimes we don't get to him in time. Don't worry you will have the same problem at some point too, and I am sure you will be frustrated at some point as well. But we all have our buttons right, I mean it is nothing to us to have a baby cry for a little while in the car. Because they have to get used to being away from us for short periods throughout the day, so we can take care of other responsibilities or children. Although it may not seem to be, the crying baby isn't always the most pressing need. I guess the poop around the room for me is just one of my soft spots, like a little crying is for you.
