It's Official

I HEREBY DECLARE, ON OATH...THAT I WILL SUPPORT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION AND THE LAWS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AGAINST ALL ENEMIES, FOREIGN OR DOMESTIC, THAT I WILL BEAR TRUE FAITH AND ALLEGIANCE...BEAR ARMS...PERFORM NONCOMBATANT SERVICES IN THE ARMED FORCES OF THE UNITED STATES...THAT i WILL PERFORM WORK OF NATIONAL IMPORTANCE THAT I TAKE THIS OBLIGATION FREELY WITHOUT ANY MENTAL RESERVATION OR PURPOSE OF EVASION; SO HELP ME GOD.

I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.

I'm now officially a naturalized citizen of the United States of America. I was teary eyed throughout the entire Oath taking ceremony this morning. I still can't believe it. I am deeply honored and privileged to be a citizen of this blessed nation. My life has been so much better since I have lived here.
I had my interview yesterday (Josh was there) The US consul asked some random questions about the history of the United States ( I answered them all correctly:) yea!) and then she had me read and write a couple of sentences, a little chit-chat and then that was it! She told me I passed. I was so surprised when she asked me to come back the next day for the oath taking. Usually it doesn't happen 'till after a few months... Oh well. I'm so glad my journey through this thing is over.
Anyways, Josh had planned a surprise dinner if I pass the interview (he said he has been saving for it). He took me to The Melting Pot. My gosh! I never ate so much in my entire life! We were eating for three hours! We ordered all four courses from appetizer to dessert. ( I'm not normally a dessert person but the chocolate fondue is to die for) Good thing we ate everything because it cost us half of our grocery allowance for two weeks just for that one meal. I do recommend it if you want a nice dinner with your hubbies, just don't order their smoothies, they're horrible. We had a great time. Oh, and by the way, I asked Josh: "what if I didn't pass the interview?" He said:" I was gonna get you McDonald's instead". HA HA HA!
